If you're ever in Australia

and scroll down to the tourist part. Every year they have a festival where locals dressed in period 19th century clothing and uniforms have what they call the "The battle of Lithgow" involving Calvary, infantry and artillery. Plus they have a museum

where they display lots of LE's from all time periods. Sounds pretty neat and will definitely be on my agenda if I ever head for the bottom of the planet!

I live a couple hours from the place and let me tell you it's worth the trip.
You name it they have it, not just lithgow's and smle's.
If you ever take the trip my advice is, pack your lunch as you will be in no hurry to leave.

I traveled from up country WA to Perth flew to Sydney drove to lithgow for the day there then returned after a great day. Just do it no regrets.

must make the pilgramige one day. It's about an 11 or 12 hour drive but worth it I think!

A bunch of us went late last year... Bindi and a few others had to head home that arvo, but some did a second tour the following morning. There is a photo posting in the knowledge library here...

I enjoyed every moment of the trip. Even the cold weather.

Love the place. Not just the factory but the bush and the local attractions. Spent a lot of my youger years exploring the area.
