After all the fun I had acquiring and fitting a repro 32 scope mount for my RFI "T" I am going to check how my 3 original mounts fit each rifle. This includes a 1945 47C, a 1945 Longbranch with REL and my L42A1 D71. There will be no over torqueing, force fitting or dismantling. Just the mounting screws used.. Is The fit of my repro a fluke? If manufacturing standards were that tight then. I sure would like to know who made it now. Pictures to follow. Gary

The fit I mentioned Arado is only HALF the battle. We would see if the rear pad and bracket leg would just nip a cigarette paper between them with the front pad screwed down tight. If it was nipped too tight, it'd rip. Too loose and it'd fall out.
But on top of that, the telescope had to be centered (read making a No4 sniper thread) in the bracket AND collimated with the rifle bore too. Only when all of those criteria are met would it pass the beady eyes of the out inspector.
If your repro fits all these criteria, then not only is it a good one, but it's a LUCKY good one
Peter, thank you for the information. This is only an excercise. I know I cannot restore this rifle to what it once was. I want to know how accurate I can make it now. This with my Tasco scope with enough internal adjustment to forgive a lack of knowledge or tooling to collimate. Not much money involved. Knowledge and experience gained. Again, thanks, GaryQuote:
