Subject to correction but I believe the change happened during WWI at the same time the British royal family became the "House of Windsor" (before it was: Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha)
If you change a name, you change reality, so the pictured war dogs are really Alsatians.
Apolitical dogs, most of whom were just as courageous as their handlers.
Thats the reason why we sold all Shepards abroad before the war began:madsmile:
