UN-QUALITY Question for Marcus:

In the latest issue of CC Newsletter #357, page 14, second to last paragraph I have a question for you. Do you think the statistics are accurate?

personally I think a boat load of Unquality's got sunk going across the ocean, you just don see them, you will see 30 IP's for sale for every Unquality--now maybe GI's read the word Unquality and thru them in first river they would see but I have not seen a lot of pitted ones for sale either.

I've got one myself and its fairly rough. Its the only one I've been able to lay my hands on.

In Europe they were a sought after commodity and were stolen constantly. If I was some clerk, radioman or other housecat and had to lug around an 03A3 and a cool new automatic carbine became "available", I'd jump all over it. The ship full of carbines being sunk is a real possibility. And a large lot could have been from QHW. My buddy collects old HDs and said that an entire shipload of Harley Army motorcycles was lost crossing the Atlantic. The Germans were putting a lot of ships on the bottom.
