Here is a common Late Inland "chassis", gussied up, or stripped down to the need at hand. Interesting what they kept, and what they changed. Somebody help me with I.D. on the buttplate, please.
No markings on the stock other than those in the slingwell.... Just numbers...

Thats almost as nice as the 1st one you posted. The stock and metal seems to have ridden a little bit harder. With the numbers different on the trigger guard and the stock, I would wonder which one got switched out. Do all of the other 4-digit locations match?
P.S. As my 13 year old daughter says.... "I hate you, I hate you, I hate you!!" of course that is 10 minutes before I get "Daddy, I need $20 for...."

I agree with your assessment... Not quite as nice as the first one I opened, but, for sure, no barking dog.... As much as I can tell, most of the metal seems to go together. The wood does not.... ??
Except for two, the others fall into about the same condition category as this one.
What is curious to me, is the stock... It displays all the characteristics of Winchester (including, I think the butt plate), but show no marks that I can discern, other than the numbers stamped as you see. Which do not match the metal..
PS, The numbers on the bottom of the trigger guard are the Unit marks. Not s/n's. I think.... Jim Mock can tell us for sure.
