Where to find the Production Date for an Brasilian M 1908?

Hi to all,

is there anywhere a source where i can find the production date of an Brazilian Mauser M1908. If i am not blind i cant find it on the rifle. Only the SN# is there : 6793.
Any help is appreciated.

Have you reviewed the Brazilian Model 1908 Mauser Rifle (Mfg DWM) (click here), in the South America - Milsurp Knowledge Library (click here)

I'm not sure if there's more definitive information as to breaking down the date of manufacture by serial number.

I thought the contract was from 1908-1910.

Was your Mauser made by DWM (Berlin) or Mauser (Oberndorf)?

Like I told Gunner, I don't have a book or a list for serial numbers. I just happened to have a Mauser with a serial # close to his. ( the date is on the test target).

I would guess that yours was made in 1908 (calculated guess).
