No.4 help........
I have two quick questions I hope someone knows. While trying to disassemble my Enfield no.4 mk1 I managed to booger up the threads on the wrist of the reciever where the rear of the trigger guard is. Theyre not too bad but i need to chase the threads with a tap. Would anyone happen to know what size and type of tap I need? I also need a new screw. Where is a good place to get one of those? Thanks

Thread is 4BA and a place to get a good screw is BLD Ltd who advertises in this forum

Fortunately, most of my customers don't feel that way Peter! Sorry, I couldn't resist that one! Brian at BLD. Oops, I mean BDL. Damn, that Grey Goose vodka sure is good mixed with Dad's Florida grapefruit. Wish y'all were here to have one with me.

bradford027, Make sure you don't have the rear trigger guard screw swapped for the front sight protector's screw. They're the same except for length...the sight protector's screw is just a smidge (Does the REME define smidge with the initials CH?) shorter and can strip the threads in the butt socket and/or the screw. Fortunately I learned this on one of the u-fix-it rifles I bought to learn L-E gunsmithing.
Brian, Good vodka even goes well with coffee, like good tequila...time for another cuppa.

I take my coffee straight Brad. Usually to recover from the vodka the night before. The truth is I don't drink much liquor of any kind. I just prefer a few beers now and again but the fresh grapefruit from Florida is soooo good as a mixer!
