Is this a new toy Wheaty, or just for research ?

Wow. That must be from the .270, .280, .280/30 series of experimental rounds. Individual rounds are not uncommon, but I don't think you'll find too much original ammo in shooting quantities. Very nice.

Wheaty, Is the serial number 15T7049? The .280 example in the MOD pattern room is 15T7544, I'm just wondering if its 15T7549 and its just a bad pic of the number. The last Inglis I know of is 15T7593 but I'm not sure what cal this was.

We've got some .280! Fired some not 3 months ago at Shrivenham.......

serial number should read 15T7045

Which variation of the .280 cartridge is this chambered for?

How much ammo are we talking about?

Either .280 or .280/30 should chamber, only the extractor grooves are different.
