sling swivel
need a question answered . im wanting to put a sling swivel on my enfield in front of the magazine and not sure which one i want to use . its a 1944 longbranch enfield wanting to use the rifle for target and hunting . would i be correct to put a standard enfield swivel in place of the screw or do i need to put the triangle swivel one . they are kinda hard to find . any idea where i can find one for cheap. and about the sling i already have a canvas sling ,but would a 1907 leather repro be correct . i want to stay original looking.

There are two sorts of sling swivel available Semper Fi. There is the ORIGINAL, Army issue swivel, called a 'SWIVEL, sling, trigger guard' used on the No4T, the No8 and the L42 and then there is a commerial job that does the same thing ....., but it's noticeably different.
I won't repeat myself here as hopefully someone who is a little more computer literate will bring it up again. If its originality you're after, then ou need the correct Army one.
Try BDL first but I'm sure someone on the forum will be able to help

Make sure that you read up on the differences between the original and commercial before you buy.
Has anyone got access to the little article '...wot I writ' some time ago?

Neither one would be original, so either would be appropriate. I would do the Parker-Hale, particularly if you have a Parker-Hale backsight. I'm looking for a PH swivel for my 55 Faz. The 07 pattern sling would be correct.

I have one reproduction to MoD spec. I bought a few in the white and finished them myself with phosphate and baked Suncorite 259 a while back. I'm not sure what you mean by "cheap". It's $35 plus postage. You can email me direct if you want it. There won't be any more from that source as he isn't making them anymore.
