Can Someone Tell Me The Exact Distance In Inches The Stock Swivel Is From The Butt Plate?
Do you have a WW1 Model 1897 trench gun or a WWII Model 97 trench gun? The stocks are slightly different on each.
On a WW1 trench, the swivel is 3" from the end of the stock (excluding the buttplate). On a WW2 trench it is 3 and 3/8". Keep in mind that the swivel is neatly inletted into the stock.
Hope this helps.

Thank you Tom. I am building a trench gun to use in the WWII reenactment in Reading PA. My 97 was made in 1918, it is a take down that someone cut the full choke barrel down to 23 inches. It has been sitting in my cabinet for 45 yrs and now that I am retired I am doing all those projects that I never got around to.
