Is there a Doctor in the house?

I have concerns about mentioning my fondness for firearms to anyone in the medical field. I would like to know how soon after by-pass surgery it is alright to shoot large caliber handguns and high caliber rifles.

Is there a cardiologist or heart surgeon lurking here, that could give a generic answer to my question?

im not a doc. but can tell you.
if you have a pacemaker installed, make damn sure the put it on the other side of your shooting arm..
or youll be learning to shoot with the other side all over again.
a buddy had one installed, and they put it on his right shoulder..
when he complained to the Doc, his responce was oh well, youll just have to stop hunting....
i would have reemed im a new one...

I would ask the doctor that did the by-pass surgery, if [he or she] can't tell you, my opin. would be When you feel like it.
