Yes, the quality is good. I haven't had the opportunity to shoot mine yet but I understand they perform very well.
All of the pakistani N04 MkII rifles I've seen have been VG-EXC. There may be some beaters out there, I haven't seen any though.
The one I have, doesn't have the reinforcing screw in the fore stock. I don't know if POF follows the same rules as Ishapore and just installs the screws on new rifles as well. Most have the screw. I've been told that it means the rifle was captured by the Indians, during the border wars with Pakistan. The bores are bright and sharp with little if any wear.
Just one caveat, be prepared to clean for a while. The rifles have a dried coat of something on them that is very dirty. I was afraid to remove this coating at first, it was so uniform, it looked like it was supposed to be there.
The bore on mine measures out to .310 and is quite accurate.
The wood is some sort of walnut, dark and dense. It feels a bit over size in comparison to European or North American No4 wood.
Well worth the money. The Canadian POF rifles aren't import marked, not that it matters. In the US, you fellows get many different grades of surplus rifles. I'm guessing that this is the case with the POF No4 MkII rifles you have up for sale. You may want to look at it first before you take the plunge.
Bearhunter thank you so much!
