1957 M27

I don't know how or why this has never been fired. I have had it for 20 years.

Not seen a Naval marked M1927 lately. Used to have 6 Air Force marked '27s, but several ran off to other happy homes. (Made one w/ a bad barrel into a "stealth" stock looking match/CQB pistol that did quite well even w/ the small sights.)

One oddity- they made all the 1927 hammer spurs extra long and sharp on the bottom- all the butter to draw blood from the shooter's hand.

The first Colt WWI (of the late 1990's- early 2000's) reproductions had a suspisiously similar hammer...

Yep it has all the early features.

Still in original blue finish, no less!:thup: Most got a phosphate finish at some point. The upside to the refinished pistols is that most of the sharp edges were rounded a bit upon rework.

Thats a really nice Sistema you got there. Argentine Navy Pistols are strangely rare to see even here in Argentina. In case you dont know "Armada Argentina" "Armada Nacional" and "Marina de Guerra" are also markings that belong to Argentine Navy

I think they mostly got shipped to the "Happy Arms Dumping Ground" aka.the USA.

I went up to San Jose yester and saw two .38 super 1911's. One had been chromed but the other was in a wasted old brown Colt box and was in pretty good shape but the color was browned on one side but for $200 USD it had potential. Well till I found out there is no transfer system in place. There is a shop there where I can get a real answer but it was close till after Easter. The whole country closes down Friday for a week.

I hear we have OB health care now.

Well some one looked it up for me once and pointed me to a copy of a typed and copied sheet of paper that slotted it in from 1956 to 1957. I never looked deper into it. I have a PM now that puts it shipped in March 1959. Live and learn evey day.

Clawson's book on the Government Models details ship dates of most all the Argentine pistols, both Colt and Local production. From where he got his info I don't know.
