High Wood stock repro
Just picked up a highwood stock repro and handguard from Dupage Trading.

Stock is made by Boyds. Seems to fit well. This is it being temporarily occuppied by my SG. Thinking of putting it on my boltless racker from CMP when it gets here. Put on a repro flip sight and Type 1 barrel band for a WW2 repro carbine (sort of a pet project I've had in mind).

Nice rifle, I have used a few of those from Dupage. Good quality and really look good. I thinks thats one of the better stocks on the market.
BTW, removing the rear sight is not an easy chore and Ive seen a number of recievers damaged, even cracked in the process. Used to be a decent thread on the CMP forum, may have been the old one, on pitfalls of swapping a staked ramp sight.

That's why I've had Chuckindenver from the '03 board do my mods for me...leave it to the pros!

Switching the rear sights is no problem, at all. As long as you have the correct tools.

That is a great stock. If my house sale hadn't fallen through I planned on picking up another racker (even a boltless one) to start a "representative" early carbine. I would have used a nice repro type I sight and barrel band, had it reparked, and that Dupage stock would be perfect. With as awesome of a shooter my Inland is, I would never mess with it. Oh well, they are running out of Rackers. I'll have to pick up a Blue Sky import at some point for that project. Probably better to desecrate one of them, anyway, rather than a CMP weapon. Come to think of it, getting one of the reparked Blue Skies would be a better start.
