My understranding is that Inland type 5 slides had the "PI" marking on the inside/bottom of the slide, and later on, the part #7160091 was stamped on the bottom outside. Does anyone have a rough idea as to when (Inland serial # wise) that the #7160091 was added?

WB lists them as both versions being used from early 1944 to the end of production.

My Inland is serial 5,061,238.
Barrel dated 3-44.
Type V slide marked PI inside. No number on the bottom.
I would imagine as Bruce more or less said, that the numbered slides could be found before and after this serial range.

I'm just trying to figure out which slide to get for it. Looks as though a type 5 with either marking would be good.
Of course I could just leave it as I found it since the components all look as though they've been together for some time.

The correct parts shouldn't be to hard to find. Parts that late and Inland also aren't that hard to find. It will be just a matter of matching finish color and wear to your weapon. But thats just me I have bought complete Carbines for one part I needed.
