RMC Stock Repair Questions ??
Bought a early RMC carbine from a fellow member here a while back. Good friend, He bought this one from the CMP a number of years ago. He stated it had a small patch. He doesn't do wood repairs, I do them for him.
He passed it along to me in the original box with the CMP paperwork, chamber flag etc..
At first the stock was so black he couldn't see a RMC and CC stamp. In fact he said if there's one there you'd have to be Superman to see it.
I Cleaned, Stripped and used my 2 part wood bleach solution on the stock before adding a little color and BLO. The markings are now clearly visable. Still tossing around the idea of adding one more coat of BLO. It doesn't show any signs of being sanded as any Rock Ola Buttplate or any of a handful of RMC handguards fit perfectly.
It has a small wood patch on it. I know I can fill the edges of the REPAIR better than they are now, but see no need to replace this patch, it's very solid and matches very closely. At the most it measures 3/16ths tall by 1 3/4" long.
My questions...........
Who did the repair?
This stock has a small RA-P stamp on the bottom of the grip. A lightly boxed RIA over EB on the left along with a circled P on the front of the grip.
I'm assuming if RIA or RA-P would have repaired this small patch near the slide handle they would have used the threaded brass pins. But there are none.
Might it be possible that the CMP did this repair?
Has anyone ever received a stock patched from CMP without pins?
I ask because I plan to auction/sell this one off with another batch of stocks I'm nearly complete on. If asked I'm not sure who to say may have repaired it. It' looks to be a true Type III Low-Wood. With early Type I/IA band use or the possible use of a type II.
I put some pictures together in hopes of these helping.

Unrelated question but still about the stock..
Trying to learn here...
I noticed on the stock in this picture, the "RMC" letters of the cartouche look a little bit wider & shorter than some other rock ola "RMC" cartouches I have seen that people claim are correct. Also the leg of the R does not stick out as far as the top of the R on this cartouche, whereas on others the leg and top of the R do align almost perfectly, if not the leg sticking out past the top of the R just a bit to the right.
Did Rock Ola have a couple slight variations on stamping these cartouches? Does anyone know?
If so would that depend on year, stock type? For instance, T1 stocks looking slightly different than T3 stock cartouches?
