Howdy all o/
I have been a quest snoop on ya'lls forum for a while at the office and I finaly had to pull out my Enfield and take a real look at her. Here is the funny thing that I need help with.
She is clearly a BSA M,47.c on the band, bolt, saftey and bottum of the reciever. Right under the M47.c stamp on the band "england" and 1944 is also stamped....but nothing else. I cant find a serial number on it.

The serial No. was likely lightly etched on the left receiver sidewall, under the "No.4 Mk.I" marking, generally just forward of the ejector screw. Sometimes it's really hard to see.
Many rifles in inventory postwar had the S/N rather more heavily stamped on the butt socket somewhere under the M47C marks, but yours seems to have missed that addition.
there is a number scratched on it but I blew it off because I thought it was done by my Dad.
P33733 it is also stamped on the bolt arm before the ball. Ive tried tracking that number but it doesnt match anything Ive seen.
P33733 is a correct serial number for a 1944 dated BSA No4-----
