Who made the PI marked handguard? Inland? Where do you find this information? Regards, Rick.
I haven't seen one of those - sure it isn't 'OI'? 'PI' on steel parts is 'Packard for Inland'. I had not heard that Packard made stocks too, but then again I am not an expert.
I have PJ and what looks to be P1 (P #one).... 4 rivet handguards.
Have 1 walnut PJ and 1 birch PJ, the P1 (P #one) is birch also.
Figured they were war time replacements like the J and M stocks.
Assuming the M marked with a bomb stocks are Marlin.
No idea who made the PJ and/or P1 guards.

It sure looks like PI to me also or possibly P-I.
I'll look around tonight. I may have some stamped like that.
But I'm almost sure their WWII replacement handguards.
HI and OI are the only documented handguards for Inland I've seen. Some marked differently from early to late.
That one is Birch isn't it? Is it a 4 rivet?
Can you show a picture of the rear side ? .... showing how deep the groove is
Thx for the picture

Yep, PI no doubt. Should be a good search to find out who made it.
Here are some more pictures. Not sure if it's Birch....if it is, it sure took the Walnut Stain well. Where would one look for the various manufactures? Regards, Rick.
