I am looking for some info on a M1911 (1913 production date?)

Hey Guys...New to this side of forum(I am an enfield guy until today). I have a chance to buy this M1911.....I am trying to figure out what it is worth.....the blue book says at 60% it is worth $750.00.....I dont know how to classify the % on this gun. The finsh looks very nice. There are no rework marks on it. And all the serial #s match Clip/slide/the ejector( sorry if my lingo is not right). The serial is C20143. Attach are two pics that I took with my phone. Also with the gun is a web belt/ holster (U.S. Marked)/and clip pouch. The other photos are of the samping on these items. He is asking $1000.00 .

I am looking for opinions.

The Pistol is a Colt Commercial piece and would not have been used by the Military unless someone actually took their own weapon from home to use. The rig looks to be all WWII vintage and probably worth about $100 plus or minus. It looks like the pistol may have been reblued at some point in it's life. I don't really see $1000 worth. IMO

It is a Government Model, which was the civilian version of the Model 1911, and was made in 1915. As indicated, it has been reblued at some time in it's career, and doubtful it has any military connection. I would think more in the $600 for a refinished commercial.

Thanks for the feed back guys.....how do I tell if it has been re blued? In the pictures the finish does look different. But in person the finish in my opinion(for what it is worth) looks origanal. What would be the tell tale signs I should be looking for?

Maybe we just need better pictures, as the pictures shown make the lettering look over buffed, the corners rounded, and the hammer and sear pin holes rounded out, and as you mentioned the color is wrong. Also the magazine catch doesn't look like it fits, and the slide stop in a 1911A1 type.

Thanks John... I am going to see if I can get the gun back and get some better pics. I took these with my phone in my truck. This guy is a trucker and I dont know when I will see it next. But I will take another look at it as soon as possible. Thanks again for all your feed back on it.
