i need help with a no1 mk3

ok i have a lithgow no1 mk3 made in 1941.it has a plastic stock on it. i want to restore it but this being my first enfield i dont know what i need. p.s all so any info about my rifle would be a plus. p.p.s the pics show all the parts i have thank you in advance for any help.:sos::sos:

Hi, lithgo and welcome to milsurps.
It sounds like you will need a complete stock set with nosecap and outer band with swivel. Getting the right parts made by the correct factory will be the issue, and depending on what part of the world you are in, could be easy or expensive.
Where abouts roughly are you on the planet?

You can upload regular sized pics, as long as their under 250k in size and they'll be fine ... :thup:

Note the free Microsoft program specifically, mentioned in the first link. I have to say that this site is a wealth of information and all you have to do is mine for it.

Funnily enough it looks like SMLEs and parts are cheaper there that where they were made .. so enjoy !

That thing looks pretty mangled. I would do the current gun justice and find something with better wood or search just for the wood.

There is supposed to be a HUGE lot of wood showing up in Canada one of these fine days. I just don't know about shipping it, what with the current bureaucracy and dfences along out undefended border.

I do know that Springfield Sporters (you have the link to ssporters) had wood as of last week. Sixty bucks a set. They also have all other parts you would want for a restoration, some new. It was takeoff wood from Indian DP rifles, but you can do a lot of restoration with a can of Brake-Kleen, some FINE sandpaper (160 or higher), a washcloth and the wife's iron (when she isn't looking).
