Remington M1917 worth??
Hi gang
I picked up this Remington M1917 from a buddy of mine. Im not really into these that much and was thinking about selling it on Gunbroker. Can anybody give me a idea of what it might be worth? Its all Remington and is all correct. Never been through a rebuild. It gauges at under a 1. Not sure if the sling is original or not.

Nice looking rifle. It is a fairly early Remington M1917. What is the barrel date, does it have a R stamped into the tip of the stock and what marks are struck on the stock in-front/behind the trigger housing? Bore condition? If they check out IMHO $800-$1,000, given that original, high condition M1917's are getting more attention and higher prices.

BTW- I think the sling is a repro (I have one). Per Ferris book the barrel date is most likely 11-17 or 12-17 for that receiver SN.

There is a R stamped in the end of the stock. The barrel is dated 12-17 and condition of the bore is near mint. Right in front of the trigger assembly there looks like a flame or eagle sitting and it looks like a 339

Sounds pretty good. Are there any markings aft of the trigger guard (numbers, letters, another eagle?)

That is a beauty
That is unquestionably the nicest Remington I have ever seen. Maybe the nicest M1917 I have seen. I would say easily $1,000 to the right buyer. It will only go up in value and would only sell it if I had to.
I have all three makers but none measures up to yours and mine are very nice, but not correct or all original.

That is one nice M1917. The market is a bit soft right now. If you can, hold onto it for awhile until the economy improves.

I have to check aft of the trigger assembly tomorrow but I dont think there are other markings but im not sure.

Nicest one I have seen. I love the rifles from the war years. A M1917 is on my list. I hope I live long enough to own one. You're holding more than a rifle, your holding history as well!! Go out and shoot it, you may learn to love it!! Buy, buy, buy, never sell!!..

Well I checked aft of the trigger guard assembly and I found no other markings. Im going to have to give this some thought it is a nice piece.
