Folk, I got this oiler that different from all my others. Anyone know why? it has no markings on the bottom, a slotted top with smooth sides on the cap. sorry for the poor pictures from my cell phone.

Dip stick attached to the top?
Washer inside?
Leather or rubber?

Yes the dip stick is screwed in, but there is no washer actually I dont see any kind of ledge to put a washer!
Looks like a homemade oiler, or at least the cap does. Notice the dipper is a tube? The genuine oilers have a tiny dip stick that doesn't pick up much oil at all, this one would probably grab a bunch with one dip. During the war, a lot of machinists had a lot of time on their hands and the material and tools to make stuff (Trench art).
Interesting! Its a CMP oiler, so I think I will keep it since it is something different!
