not that I'm aware of
Hi Curt,
I've never heard of one either.
(But sometimes I feel like a neophyte compared to some people on this forum)
Since you asked, it sounds as if you've seen one. Can you get a photo?
My first thought would be a reproduction.
Or possibly one of the many different commercial bands that might have been manufactured differently, or made the same way and then finished better than USGI bands were. (?)
Thanks,
~ Harlan
Early Winchester type1 bands were different, the welds were very faint and some times hard to see.

Thanks guys I had never heard of one either. I was looking at another "original" for my collection. you know how it is from a far your pulse goes up, and the tunnel vision starts but when it comes to the details things start to look fishy and before you know it your heart broken and looking for the " made in California" sticker.
If I can get a picture I wil post it.
It's gotten sad at gun shows here, because that's the rule and not the exception, Curt.
It seems that every carbine for sale been 'upgraded' with bogus parts lately.
They look exciting from the aisle, but when you get close the 'wrong' hits you.
I wonder if someday there will be a premium for CMP guns that haven't been messed with, or just any arsenal MM that hasn't been upgraded with bad parts, repark, 'cold blue' spots etc.
