How does a 11/42 bbl sound on #109877 ? Just come to my notice. If O.K ? Should it be I Cut / Hi wood ? Sling well marks for that time ? Got one a bit earlier and one a little later, just not sure of what this should be. Thanks. Mike.

Mike,
I have #91xxx with barrel dated 11-42 maybe others with 11-42 barrels will share their serial numbers to see what the range is.

I have an original 115xxx( just can't remember the complete sn) that has an original 11-42 bbl. It has a highwood I cut stock. The sling well is IO with flaming bomb and typical Inland crossed cannons on the right side. It has a t2 housing with t1 HI dogleg hammer, checkered safety, long smooth face mag catch. Bolt is OI and it has a t1 extractor and t1 firing pin. It has the half round cut on the rear box of the slide. The rear sight is a flip with a W-I leaf and the front sight is N. T1 band and narrow swivel are both unmarked . Handguard is OI with a flaming bomb and the deep groove. All parts are black oxide except slide and trigger housing.

Well Club Newsletter #346 says the following for 109877 Range:
Highwood I cut stock up to 294488 , first oval cut stock reported at 229293.
Stock at that range is reported as crossed canons on right side and IO with Ord bomb in slingwell. 11/42 looks correct according to the chart in newsletter #333 for barrel date. They actually show ranges from 82xxx to 134xxx with 11/42 barrel dates. Although apparently Inland did not follow exactly in order
Handguard as reported in that range two rivet, deep groove with either OI or OI and bomb markings.
