Long term storage

Can't recall if it was on this forum or not. but I recently read a thread about long term stroage of milsurps in bags with cosmoline. I am considering this for a few rifles and was wondering if anyone remembers the method or has any other recommendations. I'm talking 5 years + in a loft so this needs to be absolutely foolproof and reliable.

Can't testify to how it works as my only experience is in removing cosmoline.

I live on the Florida Gulf Coast, so lots of humidity and often a lot of salt content to the air. I have had very goo luck with RIG - Rust inhibiting Grease. It's readily available and you should be able to find it on line. If not drop me a line and I'll help locate some. Nice thing about RIG is you don't have to lay it on inches thick. I usually apply it with a flannel cleaning patch. A thin layer works well. You can coat the bore by running a RIG saturated patch through. I've used it on blades and guns and been completely satisfied.

My other worry about long term storage is also related to the furniture and whether it may dry out or suffer from being in a Corrosion inhibitor bag if I go that route. Should I just slather on some Boiled Linseed Oil before putting away or is there somethign else I should use.
