Perforated primer? LE No 5

Hello,
My new No5 leaves a different impression on the primer compared to my No4. No4 is on the left, No5 is on the right in the photograph.
Sometimes the primer seems to slightly stick out of the fired brass.
The gun goes bang at the right time andf the bullet goes in the right direction.
Should I be concerned? Do you have any advise on how to investigate further.

This brand does the same thing in my P-14. A protruding primer could be a sign of excessive headspace or a weak load.

I refuse to use S&B ammo. I have had rounds that cannot cycle the gun, misfires and the brass is so thin that you will get head separation on the first and second reload. Take an empty shell and cut through it and compare to any other brand. It is about 1/2 as thick. Do your rifle a favor and feed it good ammo. You will get better results.

Paid twice as much for Federal 303 British and the problem went away. In actual fact the No5 shot much more precisely than my No4.
