Indian No4T and cover for No32 scope

Hello everybody!

I am new in this forum and I have my first question .

I have an indian No4(T) with No32Mk3 scope in my collection, I got the rifle quite recently from a retired NCO of the Austrian Army, he kept it for at least 20 years in his gunsafe.
The rifle has all the correct markings on the reciever (TR,T, S,...) , it is marked M47C(BSA) but insted of the year of manufacturing it has CPJO on the reciever ring.
Can anybody explain what this means?

I will post some pictures in the next few days.

The only thing I am missing is the cover for the No32 scope. Can anybody of you gentlemen help and give me an info where to get a good repro cover?

To answer the question about the scope "cover", if you are talking about the leather lens covers these appear regularly on ebay.co.uk

Or talk to Jon Moore on here - the product's first class IF he's still making them.

Is "jmoore", Jon Moore the leather artist, or is it another member? I got a great repro set of caps for an HT a few years ago. Beautiful work.

Same guy - and you're right, beautiful work (although I wouldn't tell 'im so as he'd just get big headed :))

There are cheaper options out there but, from experience you get what you pay for :)

Sorry, fellows, but whilst we're similarly "lettered", we are not the same person. Different countries, even, unless he's moved recently. I do metal "art", "Jon Moore" does leather.

My apologies - I thought you were one and the same - I'll stop praising "you" then :)

As you're NOT Jon Moore we're looking for we'll move along and go about our business - sorry, sorry, sorry (nice to know there's work there for the 'other' Jon Moore if he wants it !) :)

Might be worth giving him a quick e-mail. Still can't praise the stuff highly enough - have had other repros and just destroyed them as time has gone on - 25 shows a year for the last 3/4 years with approx 100 hands a weekend all over the rifle and kit can quickly destroy leather equipment - even with leather feed etc. - Jon's is still going strong and I have been known to treat it *ahem* very harshly between shows - hard wearing and forgiving :)

Going to hide under a rock now :)

I am in need of a leather scope cover for a No32 MKII scope as fitted to the Enfield T sniper rifle.

JMoore where are you located ?I am in Detroit. The price of the cover,please. The repro covers I bought on Ebay out of England about 7 years are one piece and stamped 1944 Broad Arrow. The original ones I have seen in Board photos are two-piece. I have assumed, therefore, that my one piece repros are not quite correct. Thank you.
