I'm so sorry to hear that. He was an historic leader, the type all combat leaders wish they could be. I wish we could put a hold on time so we can keep those types around us.
Rip dick winters
That's too bad... :(
In my opinion, he was the epitome of what great leadership should be about ...
May he rest in peace and never be forgotten for what he did for so many ...

I'm not surprised that his passing was kept low keyed. You would expect Winter's would want it that way.
Who wouldn't proudly follow a leader like Dick Winters?......Frank
RIP. We owe that generation alot.
Some of his vet bringback pistols sold on Simpson Ltd a year or so ago. Arty Luger and another one I forget. About $15,000 apiece. Definitely a keepsake to have something like that.
God bless,a true hero.
I loved the mini-series Band of Brothers …
Here's a snip from the Academy Awards where it won a lot of accolades and many of the real Band of Brothers attended, with Dick Winters accepting the award on behalf of everyone ...

Winters hated war, but was very good at it when his country called. He led by example and with great courage. He was exceedingly humble. I cannot think of a finer example of a citizen soldier.
