Any suggestions on Hot/Rust Bluing sources and things to be aware of??
Are you talking about doing it yourself or a gunsmith location? It wouldn't be the thing for a first timer to just up and undertake. It can be very dangerous !
Rust blue is quite safe, I dont bother with acid etc, just use salt. If its a one off etc, would go this route but time and patience needed.

hot salts blue and rust blue are 2 totally different issues...
unless you have deap pockets, good heath, and lots of patiance i would advise the average person to attempt hot salts blue..
rust blue however is something that can be done, lots of time, and patiance is needed. make sure you wear safety glasses and good rubber gloves.
and make sure your MRS is out on a week bingo tour...
Check on Caswell (cold process) and Du-Lite (hot process). I have both here. Cold is much cheaper. Hot is pretty steep - about $3000. Both work.
