A firt day production US&S......

This is a very interesting US&S. It is a first day production example, the 28Th pistol assembled. Note the smooth metal finish, and the three Rockwell punch hardness marks on the front of the slide. It has a Colt hammer and a Colt grip safety and barrel bushing, plus note the machining of the slide stop notch in the slide.... The trigger is not as bright blue as later examples, however it is the right type..

All in all a very interesting US&S!!! I bought this example about 14 years ago and paid $600.00 for if I remember!!!!!! I sold it to a good friend about 10 years ago, and he was kind enough to let me take these photos..

John, I believe you might have some of your pictures mixed up. The second and third images appear to be two different pistols.

Actually, maybe not, The isiot mark is the same, but differently colored. Maybe the flash.

They are aall of the same gun, it is just erflection due to dirrerent light angles!!!!

Here is another very early US&S, made about the same time. It is just like John's, except it has the typical bright finished US&S trigger and concentric ring US&S barrel bushing, a standard (but crude) US&S hammer and a Colt/US&S transferred MSH with matching fit, finish and bevel cut at the bottom.
