I have this old Garand
I'm sure you Garand guys get a lot of posts like this one. I have this old Garand and what's it worth? I suspect this is a parts rifle, but really have no idea. The stock is junk. The parts don't match in color and someone has taken a belt sander to the buttstock. The action and metal are in good condition, but the bore I don't know about. It shines, but I haven't been able to get a good look at the lands. This thing has been in my safe for 25yrs and I've never fired it.
SN 1429291
Barrel S-A-1-52
Bolt D28278-1-12SA
Bottom TG C-400254-1-SA
The numbers are accurate with the exception of the trigger guard and a number or two there are somewhat subjective. Thanks a lot, Ken in Oregon

Looks like kind of an "average" gun show Garand. You could contact CMP and pay $25 (I think) to find out if it was ever sold through them or the DCM, which would add a good bit to the value. Unpapered mixmaster ought to be worth $550 to $750, at least, depending on the barrel condition, and assuming no evidence of weld-repairs or drill-rifle welding. Might want to take it apart, look at the parts, and figure out what you have. It is not unusual for real "issue" rifles to have differing color metal parts. Stocks were often switched in cleaning and cosmolining parties, so just because the wood doesn't match does not necessarily mean anything, other than esthetics.

From what you described I would say between 5 and 600$$.
But I say get some ammo and shoot it:D

It actually looks like a nice field grade Garand. Probably a nice shooter and a nice runner. Keep it, enjoy it, nice find.

I love the trigger mech. I prefer the machined ones like that.

The trigger guard should read C-46025-1 SA , what is the rest of the trigger group numbered ? The Trigger Guard would be from a late 1940 early 1941 rifle. From what I can see of the stock it doesn't look like "junk" to me, in fact it looks pretty nice.
