M1918 BAR Semi Auto info?

Are there any M1918 BAR's out there that are semi auto anyone knows of? I know they are out there but I cant find any for sale or a price guide or anything, Jay

Yes there were several variants but who knows if any exist today. One was NuArmCo of Statten Island. I don't know how that went because I think they used full auto receivers. AMT of Pasedina made some semi only but that was short lived. Ohio Ordinance Works made some self loaders and I guess they got a patent and Philadelphia Ordnance sold some 80% finished receivers for the individual to take his chances with. If you go to http://www.subguns.com you might find something for sale in the ads there. Tom Bowers may have that info as well.

Ohio Ord. Works is the only current producer of the semi-auto BARs. Works of art , very accurate , but not cheep.

Thanks guys, I didnt know if they were parts kits like most 1919's that are semi that still have some history to them or if they make just 100% brand new guns.

Remember the theory in the US that if the receiver was once full auto it always will be. I should think that MOST of the parts will be new manufacture.

OOW used USGI parts to build thiers , except of course what they could not use to make it a BATF approved semi. As parts dry up , they have gone into making thier own parts. If you buy a parts kit , you can buy OOW's reciever kit and build your own. The kit has the reciever , trigger group ( converts to hammer fire ) , a bolt ( they use a forign model bolt with a smaller dia firing pin to avoid primer piercing , you can use a std bolt if it headspaces , cut the block off the rear of the firing pin , and switch out the rear bolt block and use thiers if you want ) and the slide and some small parts. You will have to open the gas ports in your selector to tap off more gas to overcome the added resistance of the hammer spring - no biggie.
Lots of people use the GI bolt with no problem , but I suffered from pierced primers when I switched except with GI ball. My luck.

Hi, I have what I think is a BAR bipod, not much for markings on it, B7312236-1 NE1 on the foot, and on a couple other places.How would I identify this for certain, and what would the value be?

B7312236 on the right leg , B7312235 on the left , late style lower legs. Leg alone , about $10-$20 each. Complete with inner legs , head , screws , wedges....about $100 . Prices assume minty condition / NOS .

Thanks, it does seem complete.Even has cosmoline inside legs! Once I get some pics, I will post for sale or trade. Not much chance of ever owning the weapon here in Canada.
