When is "how much?" too much?

Was just browsing "that site" during a lull in the day's action and saw these:

I admit to being as obsessive as most about finding the right parts but those prices look pretty scary to me (maybe I'm a little niaive?)

Got me thinking.....how far would you go in your quest for that missing part?

Depends on how deep your wallet,
how soon you "Think" you need it,
is it the LAST widget you need to complete the kit,
when was the last time you saw one for sale, at ANY price,
do the numbers match the scope you've got hidden under the bed....
the list goes on and on, so there is no easy answer.

I tend to agree with you, although the No32 bracket is at least original.

The tools have been quite widely reproduced in recent years and just getting one that works should not be all that difficult.

Numrich arms has reproduction tools right now for less than 25 dollars. And they work and look fine.

All of the No32 Mk1 and 2 sight adjusting tools were absolutely useless. That's why the simplified Mk3 turret was designed. You're never going to use an original even if you have one. Well, you MIGHT, but only to indicate to others just how rubbish they are. The best thing you can do to illustrate this is to use one on a blustery wet and cold day on Otterburn ranges.......................... Having thought about it for 24 hours....I could probably justify the money on the bracket. I'd be really struggling on the scope tool though....even if I had an Mk1 or Mk2 .

I'm still having cold sweats thinking about how much I spent on my scope tin!

Re: scope tools - I'm lucky that a gentleman in South Oxfordshire took pity on me and inducted me into the "customised" allen key fraternity (Works a treat Peter!! Thank you!!)

Re the bracket, it's that bloke's 2nd or third attempt to sell it - if you think it's eye watering now, add an extra few hundred on for the asking price before...no-one bit before and that price is still a bit to high, even for a genuine one.

The scope tool is out of line compared to one I bought last year out of Denmark. I paid about $120.00 Canadian shipped and it is a original and I only bought it to complete a kit.

I had bid on a reproduction tool about 6 months before but it went for around $100.00 Canadian so I thought I rec'd a decent deal on the original.

Not needing a bracket I have no idea if the price is reasonable or if I would pay that type of money.
