My first Japanese Arisaka type 38 (questions)

I have learned quite a bit about my new T38 but am stumped on a few things.
Thought I would post and see if someone could fill in some holes in my knowledge.Here is what I have
Vet bring back type 38 with mum, dust ,cover and original sling. Nice bluing and solid wood.
Kokura arsenel
No series mark before serial number
Serial # seven digits? (does not seem to match the production figures I have seen)
2 small marks after the serial number (symbol marked as unk.on t38 data sheet found online)
bolt ,firing pin,saftey knob #838
bolt latch assy.,bayonet lug,sight adjuster #146 and appear to have 24 series marking
Is this considered a "matching rifle"
Any ideas on production date,high digit count on the sn or lack of series markings before the sn?
Not even curious about value. I will check the headspace buy some ammo and take some kids to the range for hands on history.

It sounds like you are going to have a very good time shooting with the family, it doesn't get much better thatn that in my book. Make sure you have the rifle checked for caliber, a good number of Type 38s were rechambered to .257 roberts(don't ask me how I know), the 6.5 will chamber and fire but the brass looks pretty sad afterwords. We could use some pictures of the left side of the reciever where the serial number is. The first Nagoya built rifles between 1922 and 1933 had no series mark and serial numbers in the two million range(seven digits).

No family or kids though. Thats why I have the time/ money to aquire the firearms. My sister and my friends lend me their kids. I hope to inspire intrest in the appreciation and preservation of these pieces of history.
