I was going through some of my older stuff and ran across these Viet Nam Military Script notes. Brought back a few memories.

Very interesting. I always wondered about them, what they looked like. We always used the local currency.
nice.Did they come in larger amounts?
They sure did.. Vietnam 1966 through 1968 we recieved $1.00 - $5.00 and $10.00 "MPC's". We were supposed to :) convert MPC's to the Viet "Piaster" (108 Piaster) to $1.00 US exchange rate before going into the local economy to seek the various pleasures available.:dancingbanana:
The "available pleasures" varied in cost dependant on your location
The MPC started in late half of 1965. Had a hard time convincing the locals to accept them. I didn't bring any back with me.
I didn't plan on bringing any back. I was on Assault Craft and we got moved around quite a bit. Then on short notice sent home.
With the pay we received back then, married with a baby, I couldn't afford to throw away money. Just happened.
The money has faded along with my memory. Not sure if the VietNam money is North or south.
