How many of us remember using these?
I made a modification to this one. The tip will also accept a .25 ACP round.

I had the UK equivilent for some years. The ones made by Pains-Wessex. They didn't have the zip-gun attachment however. We actually classed them as a weapon if you can beleive that...
They can be pointed at someone and let off. So I guess that IS a weapon. I wanted to try this out the other night, but then it would not be a complete set. I don't know where to get more of the flares.
The flares should be available to anyone that supplies pleasurecraft or fishing boats. Most outdoor suppliers should have the mini flares also. They may be shorter or longer but will screw in the same.
I think they are still available:
Product Catalog
Shows launchers, noise cartridges, flare cartridges, whistle cartridges.
Those are exactly the ones Ed.
I've got 2 or 3 of those around here some where, probably with all my other flight gear.
I picked up a couple of green plastik tear gas cartridges in the mid/late 60s to have as an addition. Figgured that I could get 2 uses out of them - flush an animal out of a burrow or slow someone down who was chasing me.
In Viet Nam I carried one in the pen pocket on my jungle fatigues when I went to town. Figgured it wouild take the fight out of 1 or 2 cowboys in a pinch and I had a S&W Chief in the side pocke of my pants in case there were more than 2. Fortunately never had to use eiother one.
