Thanks Caf..
It says sold. I didn't see a price. Are you the buyer and wanting approval of your purchase?
No, I didnt buy it,..I wondered what everyone thought of the "Glued repair"..and rear sight area..would the manufacturer fix it with glue?
That rifle looks quite original to my eye. Anyone know what the asking price was? Andy, what part of the rear sight area do you think looks off?
Sold $2000.00..just wondering on the https://www.milsurps.com/images/impo.../1695315-1.jpgwhite area..is it staking, andhttps://www.milsurps.com/images/impo.../1695320-1.jpg
glued area...why would a factory repair such an area with glue?
TEXT...PR-B recoil plate and makers glue fill of surface mark and left side of tang.
I doubt the glued part of the stock was done at the factory, nevertheless it doesnt detract that much from the gun. As for the staking on the dovetail, it looks exactly like the staking on my IBMS, I own two original's with flip sights. Here is a pic of one. Notice how there is bare metal visible in the staking of this one and Joe Salters. I would have bought the one on Salters for 2k in a heartbeat had I seen it first!

Ok the staking is good, I never had an IBM, and the Xed round bolt is neat, but the glued area opens up issues for me, personally..how did it break? I called Joe too late, it had sold before I got to him..I wanted to see it
I agree that glued stuff always makes you take a better look at the package. In this case I think we missed a good one, as you know carbines in that condition are pretty hard to find, seeing how fast this one sold for 2k is a testament to that.
Here is another pic of staking on an original IBM................
