1st COMP WITH NEW GARAND
The rifle CMP 5844757 SA service grade was great right out of the box. The metal brand new ME .5, TE 1.5, HS excellent and wood a tight new birch CMP stock. This was the 1st time I was responsible for sighting in my Garand and following the instructions I received on milsurps I was able to shoot a 90 on my first 10 shots at 200 yards. My biggest handicap was shooting with glasses. When I shot 10 years ago I didn't wear them yet. What was odd was the only 2 Xs I scored were in the prone from standing rapid fire segment. Of course my weakest spot is from free hand, so I'll be watching TV standing free hand and hope my family will not freak out. Many thanks to the PORT MALABAR RIFLE & PISTOL CLUB for a great time. Hope to be a member soon.
PS. the 1942 instructional film on this forum was the biggest help on,
1. STANCE
2. TRIGGER PULL
3. PROPER SLING USE
4. BREATHING
