I have a ROA BP. I`m using Remington #10 caps & it doesn`t always fire them. I have to cycle around & hit them again. I belive this is due to the way Ruger desined the hammer not to hit the nipples. Does any one else have this problem, or should I be using differant caps? By the way, I use these caps on my other BP 44`s & they fire off everytime. Thanks in advance.
CCIs work fine on my Ruger, but I don't remember which size offhand. I don't recall if Remingtons have ever been tried on that particular revolver. (I generally just buy en-mass whatever's on close-out each year at Wallyworld.)
Having thought about your misfires a bit, it seems to me that since you get ignition on the second go around, your caps are not fully seated, almost certainly because they're too small. The first haammer impact drives the cap down far enough to achieve the required crushing of the compound against the nipple on the second try.
Try seating the caps more firmly (within reason)-or go to the next larger size. "Too big" caps can be retained on the nipples by making the skirt slightly egg shaped before seating. If you're using a cap dispenser, just deform them before filling.
BTW, I mark my dispensers (5 or 6?) that aren't dedicated to a particular firearm (and most that are) with the size and brand of caps inside. Makes it easier to work out what a new firearm likes before putting together it's own possibles bag.

I went out today & bought a tin of #11 caps. Going to the range tomar & will know if my problem is solved. Thanks guys for all your imput.
It's been some years but I had a an "Old Army" and as I recall I used #11 caps on it. I do know I never had ignition problems.
This question prompted me to look up the manual. Found a PDF version and for caps it calls for "...No.10 or No.11. (US) or equivalent." (page 11)

Number 10 caps are in theory supposed to be smaller in diameter than # 11 caps and is likely why they are not seating on the nipples properly.Notice the in theory disclaimer to cover my butt.;)
