1898 .30-40 Springfield
Can anyone tell me what I have and approximate value? Receiver marked US Springfield Armory Model 1898 #2201xx, barrel has a 1903? Springfield front sight, rear sight is adjustable from 200 to 2000 yards, barrel has a "P" and a "K" stamped on the underside next to the receiver. Barrel is 21 1/2" long to front of receiver ring. Stock appears to be a cut-down 1898 stock, about 7" long from front of stock/handguard swizel band. Overall condition is about good to very good. Barrel is very slightly pitted on interior. Thank you in advance.

had to really tell without a picture, from your discription it appears to be a cut down rifle which was fairly common, in nice shape they usually go from $400 to $750 depending on how nice thay are and what condition the bore is in, dealing with Kraigs can be a world all in it's own.
