Mosin Nagant 91/59
Here is a Mosin Nagant 91/59. I stopped by my local shop to buy a few boxes of Privi Partizan for my No. 4 enfield. Well tis was in the rack next to a M44 Nagant. I wanted a Carbine but I dont like the Baynet hanging off of the side of the M44. I had been looking locally for a M38 but not having much luck. So I went home with this one and a couple boxes of Privi Partizan for my Enfield.
From what I have been told the 91/59's were arsenal made from 91/30's . Mine was made from a beautiful Tula rifle manufactred in 1939. I have a 91/30 Izzy made in 43 when they could'nt spare the effort to polish the toolng marks off of the reciever.
This rifle shot great with the iron sights at 35yds. My backyard range is set up for handguns and archery. I put the scope and mount on it but havent been to the range yet. Waiting for a day when the wind isnt blowing 50mph. Thanks fishn

Ammo was a special 124gr load. I rounded up some a long while back. I think that's why the rear sight was modified. Interesting rifles. Border guard specials, IIRC.
