42' Maltby No4 Mk1 before and after -

Thanks to Brian from BDL on the parts I was missing.

Story starts with me finding a sporterized Enfield off the internet for 200. Rear buttstock was cut and recoil pad added many years ago. Front sight guard, all the sling parts , and a few other things were gone also. Then a good clean and simple restoration.I wish I was better at pictures , im blown away how nice it turned out.

I still havent put the rifle away , I keep picking it up. I never had an Enfield as nice. When you go to shows all you see is import marked old rifles for 300+ $ , Jay

My 42 Maltby is H12XXX. Not really that far apart.

Thats pretty cool. Id love to have rifles that were really close in serial number.

These two are not far from each other both 1924 SMLE No1 MkV, the oldest one recently arrived,

That top one is interesting:

Is that a Martini Enfield barrel with a South African mark screwed into that receiver?

That one was a sporterized one, as you say it had a Martini Enfield barrel on, see link below for the ongoing restro.
