There's a little piece of wood in the rearward part of the forestock with the screw going through it. Mine is split and so I'm going to glue it back together and was thinking I'd just glue the little piece of wood to the two sides of wood. Is there any downside to this? Why is that piece of wood not solidly attached to the rest of the stock?
