Looking for reference books giving 1903 Springfield NRA Sporter serial numbers.

As a newbe to this board....and this is probably common knowledge. Where might I purchase a book containing the serial numbers of the rifles sold through the DCM?

I've read Hatchers Notebook twice and really love the 1903's. I had a NRA Sporter in my younger days and am buying another this week, will post pics soon. I'm 66, still love to shoot, reload and collect.

I own a company that demil's US ammunition...but haven't had the chance to work on any 30-06 yet. Right now we are doing 5.56 ammo.

I need some good reference books to fill up my library.

The book you seek is "Summary of DCM Rifle Sales, 1921-41" published by the Springfield Research Service. The book is long out of print.

I don't have direct access to the books, but I do know that there are a fair number of NRA Sporters in the 1,290,000 range. Another interesting fact is that your receiver started out at Rock Island - either as a raw forging or a finished (but unmarked) receiver. Receivers in the 1,290,000 range were made at Rock Island.
