While back east on my trip I stopped by the Springfield Armory. This auto caught my eye. Stamped like the Liberator below it. Not a 1911 45 auto as we normally see. Thought it was pretty cool. Wouldn't mind finding one to go with my Liberator. Then again, finding and affording something like this is another story.

I was under the impression they were made by Guide Lamp the same as the M3 for instance. No I've never seen one around either.
If there were less than 20 made, I doubt your chances of finding one are very good. The "Liberator" pistols, which were made in quantity, are seldom seen today. I am sure I have seen less than a dozen original ones in 30 years.

I was being a smart a**. I know it would be impossible to find, let alone afford if you found one. I was surprised to know it even existed. As for a Liberator, I bought mine in 1989 for $800. Found the book about 10 years ago for $65.Quote:

Neat book, does it mean by the pic on the cover you can use your liberator for a compass? Handy! Yes, we see the odd liberator around here and they go from $800 to $1000 CDN. A bit much for me.
From what I see around my area, and when I was in Ohio, they are running between $1800 to $2500 in the states. Some were asking higher, but selling in that range.
That's normal Jim, everything goes higher in the US because of demand. Firearms still have sentiment there. I have an M1 that would be worth maybe $1000 -$1200 here and I was offered $3000 over this forum from a US citizen. Problem is it's LL so it stays here. Guess I'm stuck with it. The Liberators show up occassionally and don't cost what they would there for sure.
