AK47 bayonet
I went out on a quest for bayonets at the flea markets on Sunday and came home with three. An early (first type) AK47 bayonet, a Spanish 1969 Cetme and a French MAS 36/49. Yes I know nothing to brag about but the Spanish and French are unissued and were less than $15 each with no shipping and handling and if you're going to collect, you need the unpopular ones too. The AK47 was under $15 as well so I figure I made out pretty well for the day even though what I was hoping to find was a #5 British jungle carbine bayonet. (under $15 on that would have turned it into Christmas morning).
My question is I've been trying to figure out who made the AK bayonet. I've looked at a lot of sites and have it narrowed down to either Bulgaria or Russia as the sites seem to have the bayonets and their scabbards all mixed up. There is no arsenal marking on it which tends to lead me toward Bulgarian manufacture along with a serial number that seems to follow the Bulgarian pattern rather than the Soviet one but again, the websites have these all mixed up as well. Any set things to look for on these to tell the difference?

Great Price on the 49/56 Bayonet. These bring between $50-$70 in my neck of the woods, If You can find one. Been looking for one, but have not found one...Nice finds.

Gun auction tonight had the rifle to go with the French bayonet but I passed. It was one of the import converts to 308. Heard plenty of bad things about them to stay away from it. I will be watching for an unconverted one, interesting rifle.

I hope the fellow still has the MAS 36 at the next show. May have to purchase it. Picled up a CETME this week for about $15. I was lucky enough to have a Iraq vet give me an AK. Now I guess I have joined the bayonet looking for rifles club as well. Gunsmith had an SOG flyer with Finnish M39s and Samco has some K31s left (have read really good things about both). Still need a Garand. Really do not know were to turn next. Nothing seems to be avaliable in quanity let alone what I would think of as a bargin price.

If the MAS was under $300, I'd buy it. That's become my #1 priority rifle now I believe. Garand is right in there too but the price difference gives the edge to the MAS 36. The flea market is having it's military weekend starting tomorrow. I won't be going until Saturday morning as there weren't that many guys there last year and they want $10 to get into it on Friday. I can't see them getting many takers, it's cheaper than that to get into a full gun show with 500 tables. They will be lucky to have 50 tables at this and that's 15-20 guys. One of them is a fellow who promised to bring a No5 bayonet but he never came back. I'll see if he has it Saturday. Funny how that was exactly one year ago now and you refreshed this thread. This is the show I bought the 3 bayonets at.
I have to watch my spending as I'm picking up a M95 on Sunday. I don't have to do much with it, has the bayonet, clips, sling and ammo going along with it. It's not exactly the proper bayonet as this is a carbine and the bayonet for the carbine should have the added front sight on it, this one doesn't have that so I may have to keep my eyes open for a good deal on one.

Searched CETME bayonet and low and behold.

Drove by the flea market this afternoon on the way home to see what it's going to be like tomorrow. Looks like fewer fellows than last year and there weren't that many then. Only takes one to have what you want though.

I would bet you will be there. Just saying.

I'm thinking about taking that carbine case and seeing if I can get anyone to trade me an Arisaka bayonet for it. I'm not expecting enough guys there to find the one that's interested in that deal.
