Don't know that I have ever seen a soilder carry his weapon with the bayonet attached in the scabbard.

I take it You've never been to a Change of Command Ceremony. When I was in, they did not trust us to not cut ourselves..LOL

No I have not. In fact, I never had to stand an inspection. In my 4 years 4 months of service I spent 34 of those months in Viet Nam. The others making repairs to my boat in the Philippines, at the Amphibious base in Coronado training, or on leave.

48 star flag, my kind of guy.
