FAR too thin. It needs to be much wider. Say almost as wide as previous but better!
Masking tape to the rescue! Thx Peter
Have you tried googling or copying an image of a Broad Arrow? The usual form of the mark is three elongated triangles attached at the narrowest point. For stencil images (as on packing crates) the three triangles are often shown disconnected.

Ive looked for a stencil..Im copying out of my books, I guess I could widen the ends into a more angular look
There are MANY variations of it. I took a solid brass W-arrow-D off an old scrap railway locomotive that was destined to be used as a hard target many years ago. About 4" or so tall and heavy too. I mounted the letters and arrow onto an oak board. It was similar to Thunderbox's sketch but the arms extended down to the bottom of the middle upright and sat straight across. I'll photograph it. But like I said, there were many variations.
You don't see the mark very often now, just occasionally on wristwatches, compasses and the odd pair of binos......... generally the stuff that we call V&A for valuable and attractive stores

I would love Peters railroad arrow, I had 2 Nazi Railroad eagles too once
Brass WD and Arrow taken from an old Army locomotive ready to be used as a hard target for the old 3.5" rockets just prior to the 84mm Carl Gustav. Same meat different gravy as they say. There were many variations of this WD arrow.
