Markings on a No.5. Mk.1 Lee-Enfield...Question?

I don't have any reference books that deal with the No.5 Mk.1. rifle.
Can anyone tell me about this marking?

Are the front blade sight markings generally .015 on these No.5 rifles?
What is the N67 marking?
I understand there were nine different markings for different sights on Lee-Enfields.

This rifle was manufactured by BSA-Shirley in 1945, Serial number BB9724.

Hi Dave,

"N67" is the manufacturer's code for Singer Manufacturing Co. Ltd., Clydebank. I'm not sure about the mark in the first photo, it looks like a BSA inspection mark, but I'll wait for one of the Headmasters here to rule on that.

Because BSA were simply sub contractors to the Ministry of Supply and made the rifles on contract, their production was overseen, inspected and examined by Ministry of Supply examiners from Enfield. These examiners were all (?) usually highly skilled ex Enfield apprentices. The E-7E mark is an examiners mark. As for the foresight markings and sizes, read another thread that details all you need to know

It never ceases to fascinate me as to the varying degrees of poor workmanship that went into such a simple thing as inscribing information on the side of the No.5's.

Maybe still a bit nervous after a few years of bombing.

Good markings or bad, still a damn fine looking No. 5...

The butt socket markings look scrubbed and re-applied to me, as compared to other rifles in the BB number range.
