Ammo weight in 7.62 dragunov rifles

Can the 182 grn yellow tip ammo be safely used in a Dragunov? Apparently light ball is recommended while the yellow tip is listed as long range.

It is not the right round to be used in any of the Dragunov rifles or their look alikes. The heavy ball batters the action and if fed a steady diet of it damages it. The correct ammo is the light ball with the better type being the older silver tip or the later made sniper rounds that came out of Russian some time ago. Not very much of it made it into the country but it does work well. If you cannot find any of the silver tip or the sniper ammo then the standard 148 gr ball is correct to use.
